Counts & DOK levels
True / False
Prevent duplicate topics
Bonus word format: One key term per statement is bolded and underlined. For false statements, correcting only that term earns 0.5 pt bonus. The answer key lists the correction for every false item.
Multiple Choice
Prevent duplicate topics
Confidence-based: Each option gets a blank. Students distribute 4 points β€” all 4 on one if certain, split if unsure. Points earned only on the correct answer blank. Full directions printed on exam.
Matching

Custom topics (optional)
Leave blank to draw from the Topics Bank.

Brain Dump options
Brain Dump format β€” student chooses ONE topic group
Include a chart table to complete (columns vary by topic)
Each Brain Dump question offers 2-3 topic options. Student picks ONE, places a check mark, and completes the chart. Directions are printed at the top.
Answer distribution: The AI writes all questions naturally first, then audits and balances correct answers across A, B, C, and D β€” no letter more than 2Γ— in a row, no predictable patterns, no B/C clustering. DOK levels are labeled and verified post-generation.

Recommended ranges by exam type
Recall  <30
Orientation quizzes, pre-tests, first-week check-ins. Pure terminology and anatomy identification. Appropriate when introducing a body system for the first time.
Foundational  30–50
Weekly module quizzes, early-semester unit checks. Mix of recall and basic application. Good default for formative assessments where the goal is reinforcement, not stress.
Moderate  51–70
Standard unit exams and midterms. Balances recall with clinical application and comparison questions. This is the recommended default for most A&P I & II summative exams.
Challenging  71–85
Cumulative finals, comprehensive midterms, advanced cohort exams. Requires synthesis across systems, mechanism reasoning, and clinical scenario analysis. Expect class averages around 70–80%.
Advanced  >85
Pre-professional prep, USMLE/NCLEX practice, doctoral-level integrative exams. Heavy DOK 3–4 with multi-system integration, pathophysiology, and extended case-based reasoning. Not recommended for standard A&P courses without scaffolding.
